A few months back, I attended a burlesque show hosted by HoneyTree EvilEye. One of the performers for the night was Arazel, a face I'd seen a ton online, but never in person. They absolutely killed it on stage with a commanding presence and sex appeal that words couldn't describe.
Seeing them in person, I realized that they would be a perfect fit to model for a concept I'd been dying to execute. The surreal image had been framed and hanging on the wall of my mind for months at this point with a faceless human at its center. But when I saw Arazel on stage that night, the image was finally complete. I knew exactly who should model this concept.
Some time after their performance, we ran into each other at the bar of the intimate venue. I didn't miss the opportunity to make an introduction and before long, we were making magic together at Studio TJx.
So without further ado, allow me to introduce you to my new digital painting titled DEFLOWERED.
I have to give a huge thanks to Arazel for not only trusting my vision, but helping to complete it! It's rare that a creative work turns out exactly as you envisioned it, but this is that rare moment for me. The image above is exactly as I've seen it in my head for months. And while photos can't do it justice, it looks even better in print!
